Bannock Transportation Planning Organization Needs Your Help

BTPO Would Like Your Help Filling Out This Survey

The Bannock Transportation Planning Organization (BTPO) has released two online activities to help determine bicycle and pedestrian activity and to identify issues and concern with the existing bicycle and pedestrian system.

An online user survey will update the 2012 bicycle user survey and provide valuable information on bicycle and pedestrian activity as well as insights into route selection and facility preference. Click on the link to go to the online survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZNDGCYZ.

Identifying locations of concerns and barriers to bicycle and pedestrian travel within the Pocatello/Chubbuck Urban area is the objective of the online interactive map.  Acess the map at https://communityremarks.com/bannock.  The map allows you to identify problem intersections and crossings as well as provide locations where there are opportunities to improve bicycle and pedestrian travel.

Both the survey and mapping activity will assist BTPO in evaluating the existing bicycle and pedestrian networks and is the first step in updating the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.

BTPO will hold three public workshops over the next several months to provide an opportunity for the public to provide input on the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.  The first will present the current conditions, results or the survey, and show the identified issues and concerns from the online mapping exercise.  The second workshop will provide an opportunity to review and propose changes to the bicycle network, sidewalk recommendations, and identified areas of concern.  The second workshop will also allow the public to suggest alternative bicycle network.  The last workshop will present the pedestrian and bicycle networks along with corridor based recommended improvements.
